Trimec Aviation is developing an STC for Gogo’s upcoming 4G connectivity solution, for the Gulfstream G200. The authorized MRO Gogo dealer will also act as a partner for hardware sales and installations on other business aircraft types. Gogo plans to begin shipments in the Q2 2017; the company has already gained FAA STC approval and Parts Manufacturing Authority (PMA) for the system hardware.
“Our team is ready to install and certify Gogo’s newest technology,” said John Holland, avionics manager for Trimec Aviation. “Gogo Biz 4G continues to be highly anticipated by the customers we serve and we are pleased to be able to provide our services as installation experts of Gogo’s services.”
Gogo Biz 4G will incorporate Gogo Vision (which includes IFE content, a flight tracker and weather information), and Gogo Text & Talk, which enables passengers to call and text using their own phones and numbers. It will also support streaming video and audio; the use of apps that enable face-to-face conversations; email with attachments; and web browsing over continental USA and large parts of Alaska and Canada.
