Japan Airlines (JAL) has teamed up with Marubeni to establish JAL Business Aviation, to meet “expanding demand” for business aviation services in Japan. The plan is to commence operation in the spring of 2019.
The company will arrange charter flights, manage privately owned aircraft (handling scheduling, crew, hangars and maintenance arrangements) and provide operational and concierge services (including airport handling, catering, accommodation and surface transport arrangement) to business jet operators and customers flying to Japan.
The joint venture intends to contribute to the “economic rejuvenation and development” of Japan, by offering services and products to optimize customers’ travel time; utilizing JAL’s worldwide network and Marubeni’s business knowledge in the aviation field.
The company will be run by managing directors Ryusuke Konto and Kiyoshi Iwaki, with a head office in Tokyo, Japan.
