Textron Aviation has set up an on-site clinic to administer COVID-19 vaccinations. The OEM worked with local government officials and a health service provider to offer the service, noting that its highest priority is the health and wellbeing of employees, suppliers, contractors, customers and the community.
The OEM highlighted the move on World Health Day, celebrated on 7 April 2021. The clinic was run by employee-volunteers throughout March 2021, offering vaccinations to employees and their families.
Textron Aviation employees Patrick and Andrea Smith elected to get the vaccine. “We both have parents that fall in the severely affected category,” said Patrick Smith, engineer specialist at Textron Aviation. “We felt it was the best way we could support a path to protect them.”
The company also thanked the “healthcare heroes who have worked tirelessly for those who live and work in the communities we call home”.
Textron Aviation has donated PPE and used its manufacturing facilities to produce supplies used in COVID-19 patient care but said “we know that donation paled in comparison to the expertise and dedication these frontline heroes displayed on a daily basis”.
