The PPA Group has invested £40,000 (US$57,255) in the installation of a clean room at its manufacturing facility in Deeside, North Wales, UK, that will allow the company to manufacture and repair a range of products, including composites and molded components, in a low particulates environment. The facility will enable technicians to control temperature, humidity and air pressure accurately.
PPA says the clean room operates in accordance with ISO Class 7 standards, which meets with the stringent quality requirements of the aerospace industry and gives the company the ability to manufacture and assemble numerous components – including aircraft windshields, windows and composite parts – without the risk of foreign object contamination. The clean room was installed by Connect 2 Cleanrooms.
“We are proud to operate in accordance with the aviation industry’s most stringent quality standards and it is because of this commitment that we enjoy long-term relationships with clients operating across the entire transportation industry,” said Pete Gunson, managing director at the PPA Group. “This investment will enable us to mitigate the risk of external contamination when completing sensitive or regulated projects for the aerospace, marine and automotive sectors.”
