Developments in modular digital cutting solutions for composites will be showcased by Zünd at the JEC World trade show, to be held in Paris, France, on March 12-14, 2019.
Zünd says its digital cutting system is used widely in the automotive and aerospace sectors. The raw materials used in the composites industry – such as carbon or glass fiber, semi-finished products such as prepreg or thermoplastic sheets, honeycomb, foamcore and more – can all be cut on a single Zünd cutting system. Demonstrations will take place at JEC World 2019.
Zünd’s cutting systems are geared toward fully automated production, but the company says they allow for gradual implementation with a wide array of semi-automated options. The primary goal is always to achieve more throughput in less time.
Barrier-free data flow is key to establishing efficient production workflows, the company adds. Zünd’s software is designed to optimize cutting contours and cut paths automatically, depending on the material and choice of tools. With the integrated nesting function, parts are laid out automatically for optimal material usage.
Zünd also says its cutting solutions excel in terms of total cost of ownership, reliability and with automation.
