Rosen Aviation is expanding its range of OLED displays. The firm announced that 65in and 77in units are in development, as part of ongoing STC projects, and will be available mid-2023. The company also shared that even more products and larger sizes are to be announced soon.
Like all of Rosen’s OLED products, the 65in and 77in additions are ground-up aviation-specific units designed to have a sleek, lightweight profile. The 65in model is expected to weigh 36 lbs, and the 77in model to weigh 43 lbs. Both all-in-one products will measure 1in in depth.
“The 22in through 55in OLEDs we launched last year have surpassed even our own expectations in market demand and sales, and I think we have an opportunity to eclipse our forecasts again with the latest 65in and 77in offerings,” said Lee Clark, senior vice president of strategy at Rosen Aviation. “The larger sizes really highlight the amazing benefits from OLED technology. A comparable sized 65in+ LED display could weigh nearly a hundred pounds. We’re going to more than halve that number.”
Rosen said customers should place orders as soon as possible amidst global supply chain issues, citing longer-than-usual lead times from suppliers. The cabin electronics provider noted challenges faced during the initial launch of its OLED line last year, and said it had found innovative ways to overcome parts and material shortages that presented worldwide complications. Rosen said its internal systems are more robust and better equipped to handle any future uncertainty in the supply chain, but advanced orders are always recommended.
