Airmont and Innovative Advantage have launched the Airmont Gateway Card for AVDS. The technology is designed to optimise video streaming over existing aircraft satellite internet connection, to support inflight streaming with radically less data consumption and thus to make TV and streaming more affordable and reliable.
With Airmont’s new worldwide TV package, it is possible to watch live content such as CNN, Bloomberg and Cartoon Network everywhere.
The Airmont Gateway Card for AVDS offers an aircraft-certified hardware solution for customers. This integration is designed to allow existing AVDS customers to add this new feature with minimal cost, downtime and impact to the aircraft. New customers can utilise the modularity of the AVDS Node to integrate this capability to an existing system or a new cabin installation.
“Airmont’s streaming optimisation is proven with more than 3,000 hours of use in flight with Airmont Gateway Mini as BYOD equipment which was good to start,” said Jean-François Gault, founder of Airmont. “Now we are proposing Airmont Gateway on AVDS as a qualified solution will facilitate wide adoption of Airmont’s services in business aviation.”
“The AVDS was first installed over 14 years ago and we now have over 1,800 aircraft flying,” said Greg Cornell, president of Innovative Advantage. “The modular and future-proof architecture of the AVDS allows any of these systems to be upgraded with the latest features Innovative Advantage offers. The Airmont Gateway Card is the latest addition that allows new and existing customers to easily add Live TV to aircraft and take advantage of their optimised streaming features.”
