A public address (PA) and passenger entertainment audio system has been unveiled by Alto Aviation, designed with Embraer’s Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 light jets in mind.
Alto Aviation cabin systems engineers have developed a PA system that employs a digital amplifier, and 100% fit-compatible speakers for mounting in factory-provided speaker locations on all legacy Phenom 100 and 300 aircraft. The company said the solution allows the pilot to communicate – with great acoustic quality – safety messages and announcements to the passengers in the cabin who are not wearing intercom headphones.
The Alto Phenom PA system with PA/chimes is specifically designed to provide Phenom 100 and 300 operators with a new safety feature. The flight crew can make PA announcements from the cockpit by selecting the existing PA button on the audio panel. A PA chime will activate when the microphone is keyed, and the crew can make clear announcements to passengers without requiring them to wear headphones.
This solution is also designed to provide excellent entertainment audio. Passengers can plug in their personal media device or connect to an optional Alto Bluetooth receiver and listen to music through a customised Alto Aviation digital sound system. PA announcements override any entertainment audio playing during the PA event.
“I am always very excited offering all our clients’ solutions exclusively designed with their aircraft in mind,” said Steve Lord, senior technical sales manager and Embraer programme specialist at Alto Aviation. “The 2022 PA/entertainment audio upgrade programme allows Phenom operators to invest in safety with a premium airline-quality PA system, and easily add amazing entertainment audio for their passengers to enjoy by upgrading to a powerful Alto audio system.”
