A network and connectivity training certificate program for crew members has been launched by Satcom Direct (SD).
“AeroCNCT is designed to demystify the network and ensure crew have the confidence and familiarization to fix basic technical issues in flight,” said Mark Mata, director of training, SD.
Topics include the basics of internet connections, network familiarization, data management, flight operations preparation, and passenger device and application troubleshooting.
Participants undertake two days of training in the classroom, including hands-on experience. They also have access to online study material through Choice Platform. Operators and corporate flight departments can also request on-site training. The final exam was developed with CompTIA and can be taken at Pearson Vue testing centers or at SD’s headquarters in Melbourne, Florida. The certification, which is valid for three years, can then be renewed through online or classroom training.
SD also offers the aeroIT certification for IT, management and aviation networking professionals, launched in May 2015. More than 200 people have gained this accreditation. Updates to aeroIT include an eBook, online learn-to videos, hands-on lab experience, and additional test preparation via online assessment.
