A suite of cybersecurity services and products is now available from Satcom Direct (SD). The free Cyber Smart Kit is an educational tool summarizing potential data threats and how to mitigate risks, while the Cyber Security Solutions suite is designed to provide practical solutions to protect onboard data. Flight departments can also conduct a complimentary self-assessment network evaluation, or task SD to provide continual threat analysis and active monitoring.
SD also enables IT departments to apply corporate compliance protocols to the aircraft – the SD Private Network allows satellite and ATG connectivity providers to connect the aircraft via the SD Data Center and its multiple points of presence worldwide.
SD offers a security confidence guarantee to those who choose to combine SD connectivity services, hardware and the SD Private Network.
SD has also created a course – Cyber Security Risk Management for Flight Departments – which has been approved by the NBAA for its Professional Development Program, part of its Certified Aviation Manager credential. It will debut at NBAA’s annual training day in June 2018. Further cybersecurity courses are planned for launch in the fourth quarter of 2017.
