A Gulfstream G550 has been redelivered following a CMS modification by Duncan Aviation. The company said it was able to resolve an issue with obsolete parts without making major alterations to all the drink rails, or replacing all the switch panels.
Using a new distribution system for the entertainment portion of the CMS allowed the customer to upgrade to new HD monitors, HDMI panels and touchscreen controllers.
“This modification gives the customer custom entertainment options such as streaming video, HDMI ports and touchscreens, as well as control of the cabin through iPad remote application,” said Dennis Kruse, senior avionics sales rep at Duncan Aviation. “It’s an ideal solution for customers who aren’t ready to replace veneer/woodwork and drink rails but want access to HD entertainment content with the look and feel of a new CMS.”
“Not only do customers get a customisable IFE system, but they’ll also get new equipment that is fully supported and has a warranty,” added Kruse.
Duncan Aviation’s services include major and minor airframe inspections, engine maintenance, major retrofits for cabin and cockpit systems, full paint and interior services, and preowned aircraft sales and acquisitions.
