Upgrades to the Embraer Legacy 500 mid-size and Legacy 450 mid-light platforms – which entered the market in 2014 and 2015, respectively – include new connectivity, seating and FANS 1/A+ options. The latter will be available in the fourth quarter of 2017 for line or retrofit.
Gogo’s Avance L5 air-to-ground connectivity system, which accesses 4G network, giving data rates of up to 9.8Mbps for downlink, will be available from the first quarter of 2018. It covers continental USA and parts of Alaska and Canada.
The new seat options will be available on aircraft delivered from the second quarter of 2018. The redesigned seats incorporate headrest wings, improved legrests, lumbar adjustment, heating and massage. Customers also have more opportunities to personalize the seats, for example with new stitching styles, leather textures and color applications.
Both aircraft feature 6ft-tall flat-floor cabins and 6,000ft cabin altitude. The Legacy 450 has four fully reclining club seats that can be berthed into two beds, while the Legacy 500 has eight club seats that berth into four beds.
The optional IFE system on the Legacy 450 features HD video, surround sound and multiple audio and video input options, and voice and data communications options. The Legacy 450 cabin includes a refreshment center, rear private lavatory with vacuum toilet, and a baggage area that is accessible in flight.
IFE on the Legacy 500 includes HD video, surround sound, multiple audio and video input options, CMS and three voice and connectivity options.
