FDS Avionics has added to its do Capsule solution with an interactive moving map for smartphones or tablets. Using Glass Cabin, passengers can pan their device left, right, up or down to change the view, seeing the surrounding terrain in that direction.
“Passengers can point forward to emulate the cockpit view or point down to see what’s directly below,” said Dave Dodson, marketing director at FDS Avionics. “Glass Cabin allows an unobstructed view of the aircraft surroundings in breathtaking detail, adding an entirely new level of interaction, and fun, to an already robust entertainment platform.”
Glass Cabin works in conjunction with the do 3D moving map, which is available as an upgrade to the do Capsule, the core of FDS Avionics’ do Experience IFE platform. Connected to a wi-fi router, the do Capsule streams individual content to up to eight passengers. It can be streamed to tablets, smartphones and laptops.
FDS Avionics offers a free do Experience app for Apple or Android devices, which passengers must install to use Glass Cabin.
