Dassault jet operators now have five data plans to choose from for Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX wi-fi solution, making use of existing non-Ka-band radomes for speeds up to 11Mbps.
Jet ConneX is normally enabled by the installation of Honeywell’s JetWave hardware and an approved Ka-band radome, but Dassault is developing its own Ka-band radome. When that becomes available – it is expected in 2018 – Dassault operators can choose from the full Jet ConneX data plan catalog, with speeds up to 15Mbps.
“Jet ConneX has received an extremely positive response from Dassault customers and we decided to expand this program with more data plans as Inmarsat has more than enough capability and capacity to support even non-Ka-band radomes,” said Kurt Weidemeyer, vice president of business and general aviation at Inmarsat Aviation. “In fact, keep an eye out for even higher data plans for all our customers.”
