Alto Aviation has introduced a new series of base receptacles for its articulating tablet holders, expanding its Cadence Cabin Control portfolio. The company is a specialist in certified cabin audio systems and cabin control equipment for business aircraft.
The new series was launched at the New Products Introduction Session at the 66th Annual Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) Convention and Trade Show, which took place on 24-27 April in Orlando, Florida.
Alto has developed a series of five base receptacles with different options. There is a base-only option that the company said is “well suited to update aging Rosen bases or to add a new base to a new location on the aircraft”. There is a base with a holder for a single USB charging port, and another for dual USB charging ports, both without a decorative bezel. The final two options are for top-mounted bezels with a single USB charging port or dual USB charging ports.
The bezels provide a decorative means to present the base receptacles with USB ports. The local ports allow direct charging of local Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs). The type of USB charging port is configurable. The bases are compatible with former Rosen units when modifying the existing locations to accommodate the new base with bezels. Alto said this arrangement allows an infinitely variable articulating PED holder with several mounting and charging options.
“We are thrilled to introduce this new product at AEA,” said Kevin Hayes, VP of sales and marketing at Alto Aviation. “Alto is always thinking of simple and effective ways to increase the passengers’ wellness and ease their entertainment experience while increasing the aircraft’s value. PEDs have changed the way we approach cabin entertainment integration, and we are happy to contribute to our industry with this new solution.”
