ATG inflight connectivity provider SmartSky Networks has made a sales and installation agreement with Jet East, a Gama Aviation company. Jet East is to offer sales and installation of SmartSky’s shipsets at its business aircraft maintenance facilities in Trenton, New Jersey; Dallas, Texas; and Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.
SmartSky said its network is on track for full CONUS coverage this quarter. Jet East’s factory-trained technicians will install the connectivity equipment, supporting reported growing demand for dependable, responsive and secure connectivity.
“Our sales and installation partners provide a critical connection to our customers,” said Aria Bahawdory, director of MRO account management for SmartSky Networks. “Jet East shares our vision for challenging the status quo for inflight connectivity and delivering superior value for business aviation at a time when being connected has become a top priority – whether that be for improving the emissions of the aircraft or the quality of the experience in the cabin.”
“Business aviation continues to experience a period of growth and we are seeing an increased demand for both regular maintenance and upgrades to legacy aircraft to keep them flying longer,” said Dwayne Chandler, senior director, avionics sales and business development, Jet East. “As a leading service centre, we are focused on providing our customers with the best possible solutions to support their needs; SmartSky makes a great addition to our portfolio.”
SmartSky’s hardware and services are available through a growing network of installation partners and value-added-resellers (VARs).
