Connectivity, software and hardware provider Satcom Direct (SD) opened a new Asia Pacific office on April 10, 2018. The premises include offices, meeting rooms and a workspace to demonstrate the company’s services. The space doubles up as a venue for company events and customer training.
The company says the relocation to a larger office space was prompted by its growth in the region, driven by the development of the Asia Pacific business aviation market, particularly in China. SD’s customer base includes business jet management companies, operators, government, private owners and corporate flight departments.
The new location in Wan Chai aims to bring the team closer to its customers. “We know clients in Asia embrace the latest technology, which is why we wanted to establish an even stronger base to deliver the superior customer support for which we are recognized,” said Chris Moore, CCO at SD.
This includes support for Jet ConneX customers. “We were one of the first companies to prove Ka-band technology for business aviation, and now supply the highest percentage of tails using the service worldwide,” said Moore. “We’ve used this experience to create industry-first dedicated service level agreements (SLA). The SLAs include on-site support, proactive monitoring, outage notifications, and guaranteed email and phone call response times.”
The office is manned by a team of seven, anticipated to more than double over the next three years as new sales, technical and support roles are filled. “We are genuinely committed to this region and deem our presence essential to maintain customer service levels, manage efficient operations and keep our competitive edge,” said Moore.
