Satcom Direct (SD) has signed a deal that makes it the preferred connectivity supplier for Avcon Jet, the Austria-headquartered business aircraft management and charter operator. Under the terms of the contract, SD is supplying connectivity tools for the company, including voice and data services, flight deck communications and cybersecurity solutions.
Avcon Jet manages a growing mixed fleet, consisting of more than 70 aircraft, from offices based at 12 major international business aviation hubs. SD’s software, hardware and infrastructure services are delivered through its SD Xperience portfolio, and the company will also support an integrated, customised hardware upgrade roadmap to ensure that each aircraft is equipped with the appropriate connectivity tools to make planning and budgeting more efficient. Third-party trip planning and other operational software has also been integrated into the open architecture of the SD Pro platform for Avcon Jet’s operations.
A further part of the deal gives Avcon Jet access to 24/7/365 real-time assistance and troubleshooting from SD’s support team, in a variety of languages.
“As one of Europe’s major business aviation companies offering a wide range of services it is imperative that our preferred provider can supply all our aircraft with the right connectivity services, seamlessly and securely,” said Maximillian Maruna, COO at Avcon Jet. “As technology moves so rapidly, we also needed to know we have immediate access to the necessary support and assistance for those services. The additional focus on cybersecurity and the ability to customise services made SD the obvious choice for our needs.“
“As the preferred connectivity services supplier to Avcon Jet we can better serve their needs, whether it be providing hardware and software connectivity packages, upgrading cabin systems, enhancing cybersecurity, or simply providing assistance through our customer support team. The ability to synchronise the flight operations of each aircraft will reduce workload and make life easier for Avcon Jet, its customers and crews,” added Michael Skou Christensen, VP of SD.
