Global Aviation Technologies has been announced as a sales and installation provider for SmartSky Networks shipsets at its site in Wichita, Kansas. SmartSky Networks provides air-to-ground (ATG) inflight connectivity.
SmartSky’s flagship equipment, including aircraft antennas and an Aircraft Base Radio, are available now for more than 4,000 aircraft covered by existing STCs. Together Global Aviation Technologies and SmartSky can provide hardware and installation to support demand for connectivity on business aircraft.
“Having achieved roughly 80% coverage in 2021 and on our way to full CONUS coverage next quarter, we’re excited to establish new sales and installation partners at every segment of the market and bring our innovative inflight connectivity to the skies,” said Aria Bahawdory, director of MRO account management for SmartSky Networks. “We’re delighted to be working with Global Aviation Technologies as they share our vision of technical integrity and excellence. Together, we will challenge the status quo for inflight connectivity and deliver superior value for the legacy business aviation aircraft they support.”
“SmartSky is an impressive addition to our portfolio of services,” said Woody Cottner, vice president of business development for Global Aviation Technologies. “Their inflight connectivity service and innovative hardware offer an unmatched experience and are a great fit for the aircraft we service and support.”
SmartSky’s products and services are available through a growing network of installation partners and value-added resellers (VAR). The portfolio includes three interrelated offerings: the next-generation ATG network; advanced shipset hardware for aircraft communications; and a digital platform and application layer, Skytelligence.
