A BBJ 787-8 with a full VVIP interior was on static display at EBACE 2016 (held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 24-26, 2016), open to a select audience. Kestrel Aviation Management, the aircraft manager and the owner’s representative, arranged the appearance at EBACE with Boeing. Kestrel Aviation Management managed the purchase, design, modification and sale of the BBJ 787-8 for the initial owner.
The design was produced by Kestrel Aviation Management with Pierrejean Design Studio of Paris. Kestrel Aviation Management arranged for the outfitter (Greenpoint Technologies) and managed this process every step of the way – basing staff full-time at the Boeing factory to manage the build and then at Greenpoint’s facility to manage the modification. The engineering, installation and certification of the interior was completed by Greenpoint Technologies.
“With this BBJ 787, we are launching corporate aviation into a new era of luxury, technology and style,” said Stephen Vella, CEO of Kestrel Aviation Management. “Kestrel’s role is driving the entire process, from the aircraft’s purchase, design and modification to delivery and entry into service. This is our eleventh wide-body, having completed over US$50bn in aviation transactions. We will announce its completed sale to a new owner very soon.”
“The BBJ 787 delivery is a momentous, historical achievement for Greenpoint,” said Jon Buccola, chairman at Greenpoint, and CEO of Zodiac Aerospace’s VIP and business aircraft interiors division. “I am proud of our team and leadership that dedicated endless hours to this program. It’s only the tip of the iceberg for our BBJ 787 future.”
“Greenpoint Technologies is one of the original BBJ completion centers and it set a precedent with this VVIP BBJ 787 completion,” said David Longridge, president at Boeing Business Jets. “The company’s technical expertise, innovative solutions and long-standing relationship with The Boeing Company is the foundation for success. It is a beautiful aircraft both inside and out, and we know the client will love it.”
“There are many reasons to be proud about this significant VVIP BBJ787 completion,” said Bret Neely, executive vice president at Greenpoint. “To start, the team’s dedication and talent to engineer and master the 787 completion process and its advanced technology. We learned a great deal from our first 787, which is already flowing to our second 787.”
