Lufthansa Technik has unveiled parts of a VIP interior concept for the ACJ220 to showcase its readiness to offer cabin completion services for Airbus’ smallest commercial aircraft family. Some of the design was revealed at EBACE 2019, held in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 21-23; the full concept will be shown at the Monaco Yacht Show on September 25-28, 2019.
The company says its SkyRetreat concept involved a new and unconventional design approach, calling for a reduction to the essential. The focus was on integrating the latest cabin technologies – including 4K roll-up displays and smart touch surfaces – cleverly and discreetly. One space yet to be revealed is the Observation Lounge.
“Although the A220 represents the new entry level of both Airbus’ corporate jet portfolio as well as our completions offerings, it already provides an incredible amount of space for breathtaking VIP interiors,” said Wieland Timm, senior director of sales, VIP & Special Mission Aircraft, Lufthansa Technik. “Our SkyRetreat concept makes optimum use of this spacious cabin and its technical features will provide our customers with a whole new sense of space and a unique travel experience.”
Besides VIP completion capabilities, Lufthansa Technik already supports the A220 family with services ranging from line maintenance and component services to engine services for its PW1500 geared turbofan engines.
