The first all-new Gulfstream G500 has been delivered, to a North American customer, just less than four years after the program was announced in October 2014. The handover was made in Savannah, Georgia, USA, at Gulfstream’s headquarters.
“We’re proud of the work we and our suppliers have done to deliver a technologically advanced, all-new, clean-sheet aircraft that exceeds our customers’ expectations and continues the longstanding Gulfstream tradition of excellence,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream.
The FAA granted type and production certificates for the G500 on July 20, 2018. The model has accumulated more than 5,000 flight hours over the course of its development, demonstration and certification testing.

Earlier in 2018, the aircraft also established more than 20 new city-pair speed records during a world tour to showcase the cabin and flight deck to customers.
