The addition of two new AW109SP Grand New helicopters has doubled SaxonAir’s fleet of helicopters available for charter. Both aircraft will be based around London in the UK, and operated through new managed aircraft contracts.
The AW109SPs accommodate six or seven passengers. SaxonAir says highlights include “the finest interior trims” and “excellent soundproofing”, in addition to the ease of access afforded by sliding doors and an electrically retractable step. Each helicopter also features an extended baggage compartment.
“The A109 is one of the fastest helicopters on the market and has excellent performance, meaning load capacity even over longer range flights is excellent,” said Max Randall, helicopter operations and charter manager at SaxonAir.
“A popular route for us is from Battersea in central London to Issy le Moulineaux Heliport in central Paris. The flight time from the center of these popular city pairs is only one hour and 15 minutes, showing the savings in travel time that are only possible by helicopter.”
