Applications are now open for high school summer internships at Textron Aviation in Wichita, Kansas.
Textron Aviation, in collaboration with the Workforce Alliance of South-Central Kansas, is offering part-time, paid internships based in Wichita, giving hands-on experience in the aviation industry.
Applications will be accepted through 17 March 2023. Internships positions are available to high school students between the ages of 16 and 19. The six-week programme begins in June.
Each selected participant receives the full internship experience, which includes an orientation with parents and their supervisor, as well as a community service day and future employment opportunities. Each selected student is paid throughout their time in the programme, which concludes on 14 July.
Textron Aviation has supported the programme for the past five years, and some of its past participants now work full time for the company.
Applications are also now open for K-12 educator externships. Textron Aviation’s externship programme offers an immersive, experiential learning experience for educators, counsellors, administrators and other individuals who have a direct impact on K-12 students. Participants will be taken through the ‘Design, Build, Fly’ process to better understand the path from concept to production and delivery of Textron Aviation aircraft. This will provide educators with the knowledge to help counsel students in career pathing and beyond.
