ELeather has unveiled a material collection, Eco Brights. Inspired by the Spring, the range has a bright palette of seven colours chosen to work together or individually. Corrugated textures and lightly washed-out colours are used to highlight the importance of recycling.
“Growing awareness of over-consumption and the need for sustainable thinking was the main inspiration behind this collection,” said Nicky Fox, designer at ELeather. “The colours and textures reference the fragile nature around us and highlight the need to protect it. Design must be built to last and to allow for more repurposing and recycling.”
Eco Brights features three different grains, including a smooth metallic. The collection ranges from neutral Dune to pink Sorbet and dark Cactus.
The company said the range was suitable for use in all the markets it serves, including the aviation, public transport, public spaces and lifestyle sectors.
For all ELeather products, each roll of material is made with up to 55% recycled leather that is diverted from landfill. The company said that compared with the production of traditional leather, its material production process results in a CO2 reduction of up to 60% and uses up to 55% less water.
Eco Brights, and all other ELeather collections, are featured on the company’s dedicated online design hub, Design for Good, where designers can browse the company’s catalogue of textures and access rendering files to visualise how the materials could be used in their projects.
