Research Frontiers licensee Vision Systems unveiled Nuance Touchless, an enhancement to its SPD-Smart electronically dimmable window (EDW) systems, at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo, which was held in Hamburg, Germany, on April 14-16, 2015.
The system enables passengers to control the tint of aircraft windows using gestures, much like those used to operate a smartphone – without having to touch the window or any other component.
By moving their hand from side to side or up and down in front of the window, passengers can change the tint of the entire window, or control the amount of light coming through different zones. A video demonstration can be viewed by clicking here.
