VIP Completions, an aircraft completion and refurbishment service provider, has unveiled the interior of a completely refurbished Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).
The aircraft seats and sleeps 12 passengers. There are three principal cabin areas: a forward main lounge with a built-in movie projector and stow-away screen; a mid-cabin conference room/guest bedroom; and an aft en-suite master stateroom. There is a large mid-cabin galley with bar area adjoining the forward main lounge. The aircraft also has three lavatories – a forward crew lavatory; a large mid-cabin VIP lavatory; and an aft master stateroom lavatory with full shower.
There are custom-designed seats throughout the cabin, upholstered with contrasting Garrett leathers and intricate diamond-pattern stitchwork. The main lounge divans are also upholstered in Garrett leathers, while the mid-cabin divans are upholstered in Loro Piana fabrics.
The entire cabin has been re-veneered with an open-grain white oak finish in a matte dark chocolate colour. There are new natural Arabescato stone countertops, and carpeting by RedRock throughout the cabin in 100% New Zealand wool.
Technological highlights include CMS control via Crestron app-enabled iPads; a custom Alto audio system calibrated for the cabin using Alto’s MySound optimisation tool; dynamic RGB LED lighting; and an onboard Plex media server with three AppleTVs providing “virtually limitless” content options in a multi-zone setup, VIP Completions said. There are also four upgraded high-definition monitors; and a new HD monitor in the master stateroom.
Since the company was founded almost a decade ago, the VIP Completions team has extensively refurbished six BBJs, two Boeing 757s, a Boeing 767 and a Boeing 727.
“I am very proud of our team as we continue to focus on VIP airliner projects, demonstrating our expertise within this very specialised niche,” said Ben Shirazi, president, VIP Completions. “This project was completed within 90 ‘hands-on’ days, which is exceptionally fast given its comprehensive scope.”
“Guided by a disciplined approach to project management and extreme attention to detail, we deliver an unparalleled degree of personalisation,” Shirazi added. “Equally important is our commitment to on-time and on-budget deliveries. VIP Completions is one of just a few companies worldwide able to deliver a project of this calibre under conditions that optimally benefit our valued clients.”
The BBJ aircraft type, based on the Boeing 737 airframe, is capable of flying more than 6,000 nautical miles non-stop, and was first introduced in 1998.
